Dr. Ryan was raised in Oroville, where he developed his passion for the outdoors and Northern California. Driven to help people through dentistry, after high school he earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at Pacific Union College and a doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. While there he pursued advanced training and education and is certified to use intravenous (IV) sedation to help his patients achieve the highest level of comfort in the dental chair.

In his free time he can be found fly-fishing and boating on local waterways – unless it's winter, when skiing is his favorite workout. Dr. Ryan also shares his father's love of aviation and is a commercially multi-engine rated private pilot.

Seeking a better life, in 1985 Dr. Bob moved his family from Southern California and opened a small dental practice near Myers Street in downtown Oroville. In time his practice grew, and in 2004 his son Dr. Ryan joined him at KDG's current location on Olive Highway.

After earning a bachelor's in music at Walla Walla University, Dr. Bob went on to earn a doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and later became a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Like Dr. Ryan, he is certified to offer IV sedation to his patients for increased comfort. 

Holding licenses as a certified flight instructor and advanced amateur radio enthusiast, on the weekends he can be found at Oroville Municipal Airport or playing in the orchestra at Paradise Adventist Church.
